Mr Mao & Good Memories

This is super random. But it's one of those, if not now then when moments.

I was looking through my past assignments folder to find something to help me write the soon-to-be-due essay for my Psychology of Film class.

And I opened this file named MAO ZEDONG which we - Betsy, Sharon and Kevin and I wrote together for our Human Personality assignment.

It is 20 pages long and it records a total of 7,745 words.

... and it is a damn well written paper! At least I think and feel so. Really. As I was reading through it, I felt this sense of pride and amazement that we actually wrote something of that standard!

Then again, issues with standards are subjective but I think we scored pretty well for that report too no?

Anyhow, I now understand what Mandy meant when she said, 'This is not the best quality of work you have produced', when I sent her some of my other work for proofreading.

Looking back, the past few years we've all spent together, through the thick and thin, good and bad, through the stressful periods, through the happy moments, through the nights we all stayed awake to complete assignments, and all else..

.. I've learned and gained so much and I owe it to all you kawans who stood by me, who taught me lessons I will never forget, who supported me, who helped me grow to become who I am today.

Love you all. Sincerely.

Gaya

If you've read my post on what I carry in my bag and if you think that I carry too many items for my own good, you should watch this:

Seriously, I don't think I am overdoing it already loh!

Okay, something to share with all females out there.

I went for my mani and pedi with the mom in SS2 today at this place called KCARE ( diagonally opposite McD, next to Guardians). They are a what I would call a all-in-one thingy. They have a salon upstairs, they sell a wide range of hair products downstairs and they have the 'nail spa' downstairs too.

The catch is this, they are having this promotion so you pay RM55 for both mani and pedi. OPI products and it's a relatively decent place lah, but don't expect 5 star standards lah okay. Promotion ends tomorrow. Hahaha!

The stomach is *ugh* bulging, think I should stop snacking now. T__T

Opps, I did it!

-_-

Yeah. I was playing around with blog templates and was sure that thought I had saved my previous layout but apparently I didn't so.. I was forced to change it and finally I decided on this because it is simple and I can't find anything to complain about it.

There you go.

With the change, I also lost some of my recent most latest links. A certain someone's link would be Mr. Small Bee aka Cheang Seu Foong.

So if you're reading this and realize that you're no longer linked, kindly leave your url at the-now-bigger-and-fatter cbox -__- and I will see to it that you be added again.

I was planning to write about something more intellectual today but it's all down the drain now because of this frustrating tiny mistake.

How do you like it compared to the previous anyway?

On a super random note.

You know how random (and sometimes, weird) people add you on FB and expect you to add them just because they added you? Normally, when I see no mutual friend(s), my mind goes straight to the 'Ignore' button already.

But then sometimes when you are bored or if you are so free (like me), you decide to check their profiles anyway, you notice they have a rather 'impressive' friends list?!

Watched Morning Light. Finally. Very inspiring, makes you think about what you can achieve and that through hard work, most things are possible! But crossing the ocean is just not really my thing right now, of course unless it's fully sponsored. Would be a good show to put on for a possible upcoming Sailors Night though. :P

Pedi and mani with the mom tomorrow... Yays!

Korean Wave

I forgot how much pain it was to change blog skin..

I was reminded about it yesterday when I attempted to be creative. T__T

So I am still contemplating whether I should change it.
Maybe I would, maybe I wouldn't. I don't know.

Indecisiveness is my forte. *ahem*

That's that.

Listening to 3 songs: SS501-Love Like This / Taeyang - Wedding Dress / Wheesung - Insomnia

... on repeat!

Oxymoron

–noun, plural -mo⋅ra [-mawr-uh, -mohr-uh]

a figure of speech by which a locution produces an incongruous, seemingly self-contradictory effect, as in “cruel kindness” or “to make haste slowly.”
- Dictionary.com

I've always thought that oxymoron was a cool word. But it has always been one of those words whereby I think I know what it means but not dare use it because I am not entirely sure of its usage / meaning...

Now I do and so do you (if you hadn't already known what it meant)!

I am now going to talk about- Why How come girls can't seem to leave home without a bag while Boys can go around just fine without carrying one!

Okay, I have to clarify that I truly do not know why is such, which is massively annoying because I for one, am super paranoid about being a victim of snatch theft and what not.

Carrying a bag around town, school, during travel etc does increase the likelihood of becoming a potential victim. Of course lah, no bag snatch what right!

But how? Don't carry bag then where to put everything?? To clarify what I mean by "everything", I will expose everything I carried in my bag today and why I feel it is necessary to carry them too. Just so you get a rough idea of what is "everything" and why we need to carry those things.

Of course, I am not saying that every girl carries what I carry but I like to think of myself as part of the norm lah, so safe to say, most of the things in my bag can / will be found in others as well.

First up, planner / diary. How to live without one? Handphone calenders do not count as they are just no match to the planners in the book form. Seriously.

Second up, house keys. No keys cannot go home. Simple.

Third, tissue paper. I have learnt that girls should carry tissue paper everywhere they go. If you don't, you get weird stares when guy friends ask you for tissue. Right?

Empat, handphone. This one a bit tricky. Cause this one can put into pocket for the most of it.

Five, pencil case. Okay, this one I came up with a solution already. Just bring ONE pen/ pencil to class. Then will have less reasons to doodle and play color color on notes also.

Magazine. This one memang I extra sendiri. Not needed for school one. But if you look at it, most girls will carry a book to read whether magazine or novel, so if so, where to put? Bag also lah kan!

Lip balm. This is the only cosmetic I carry in my bag but it is crazy mad super essential, I will die if I don't have one. Okay lah, I won't die but I will go buy myself one new stick every time because lips get super dry in our weather.

Water bottle. Must drink enough water! And buying a new bottle everyday isn't very environmental friendly neither is it good for your wallet.

Wallet / purse. This one I know boys just put into their pockets but girls hard lah, put into pocket will make us look fat! -_-

Jacket. I already improvise, bring cardigan (sometimes scarf) instead of jacket because jacket more heavy use more space, means have to carry even bigger bag. Guys, I don't know lah, you all cold in lecture hall what you all do ah?

Earphones. Self explanatory lah right.

Umbrella, in case of rainy days..

So that's really it. Now let me hear listen to what you have to say.

I cannot believe a simple lunch (Hoi Dai Ye + Zhap Fan with 3 varieties of dishes without rice) at the open air food court cost me RM5.40!

Is it me or is it ridiculously expensive?

Why!

Why isn't Episode 34 out yet? Why!

I live my every day of each week, looking forward to the weekends because that is when they air the latest episode(s) of Smile, You... but why hasn't the latest episode been uploaded yet?

Why! T___T

On a separate note, the challenge is on! For each month that I don't spend on shoes and/or baju's, the mother will pay me RM100..

To do list: Need to buy doggie treats.

Why I Like It Longer

Just as I was watcheding IRIS and Smile, You, I was thinking to myself, I WANT THAT PHONE! And what do you know. Nuffnang came up with the competition..

T__T

.. but need to come up with a creative post with the above title - Why I Like It Longer. I have zero creative juice and I am just too lazy to use my brains so *waves* buh bye chance.

Anyhow, I am a big big big fan of Lee Min Jung. First got to know about her from BBF but really started paying attention to her in Smile, You. She's so pretty lah can!

I won't say I am obsessed with her because that is just very wrong. But I am loving her style so much so if you've noticed, I have been tying my hair up in high ponytails / buns. Totally inspired by her in the drama (Smile, You).

I want to go buy and start using eyeliner also because she uses it a lot but I am so lazy to learn how to apply it properly so that I don't look like someone who hadn't had enough sleep and better still, I too lazy to remove it after a long day. I think eyeliner is the biggest enemy to make up removers.

o__O very wordy right me today?

... let's go Korea!!

I See You

by Leona Lewis for the Avatar Soundtrack

Walking through a dream, I see you
My light and darkness breathing hope of new life
Now I live through you and you through me, enchanted
I pray in my heart that this dream never ends

I see me through your eyes
Breathing new life, flying high
Your love shines the way into paradise
So I offer my life as a sacrifice
I live through your love

You teach me how to see all thats beautiful
My senses touch your world I never pictured
Now I give my hope to you, I surrender
I pray in my heart that this world never ends

I see me through your eyes
Breathing new life, flying high
Your love shines the way into paradise
So I offer my life
I offer my love for you

And my heart was never open
And my spirit never free
To the world that you have shown me
But my eyes could not envision
All the colours of love and of life evermore,
Evermore

I see me through your eyes
Breathing new life, flying high
Your love shines the way into paradise
So I offer my life as a sacrifice
I live through your love
I live through your love

I see you
I see you

This would be one of those songs which would blow your mind off given it was sung live accompanied by a live orchestra..

Champion, sailing talk and more..

What is an hourglass to you?

To me, an hourglass is the most annoying thing when I am trimming the kite.

So yeap, I am back from my one week stint in Langkawi, it was good fun with great people, and one number one position to start the year with! :) Nuff said.

Checked my results too, a B+ for Thesis II is good. B/-'s for the rest is more than I had hoped for considering how I failed in prioritizing and in time management last semester.

Oh well, all seems to be good and on track, time to start the new semester with a bang before it all ends in 4 months..

I also came back with a pink / gold Ipanema, ultimate heart!

Top 10 for Today

  1. Numb3rs is officially my favorite television series! Funny how I totally hate numbers in reality -_-

  2. I need to pack the room, it's in a huge mess. Been piling everything at the bottom of the bed and I successfully kicked half of the things onto the floor last night/ this morning.

  3. As I have already mentioned, 2010 < Princess and the Frog < Avatar < Sherlock Holmes!

  4. Now that I have coffee, tea and hot chocolate to choose from, deciding which to drink for breakfast every morning has just become something I stopped looking forward to.

  5. Should I or should I not cut the nails? Sayang wanna cut them lah! :(

  6. I super love the baju(s) featured in the 2010 Roxy table calender (comes free with every purchase of Seventeen mag Jan issue)..

  7. I am so not prepared for school ahh! So much so I am refusing to read through the time table but I better because apparently subject registration is tomorrow.

  8. Blackheads are so severe this month. T__T Already cleared them once some time last week and the nose is all 'spotty' again, or at least it feels like it.

  9. I am still thinking about constructing my new year resolutions..

  10. Leaving for Langkawi tmr, will be back next Saturday :) Till then..

    Have another great semester people!!

Project 01 of Year 2010

When the GrandPa saw my shoes lying all over the living room floor and me snapping photos of them, he said, "Ah, so this is the Thesis for shoes ah!"

T__T
Correct! I free until come up with ideas like this.

I hereby present to you:

The Shoe Collection - the reason behind how they each came about version
(in random order)

*
This was bought by the Dad for me because I convinced him I couldn't wear my sailing shoes because of the toe injury I had 'acquired' through playing volleyball with slippers in the park. I wore it for sailing, once. -_- Because they are so old school and hardly anyone wears them these days, I only wear them to walk Scottie.

*
This was bought by my PoPo from.. I don't know where. Hardly wear them cause the beads/ sequines on the sides scratches my other foot. Meaning to say, the left side scratches my right foot and vice versa. But they are still a pretty pair of slippers.

*
These were bought from Thailand, by the Dad too. Simple, hardly wear because TOO BLING! Was dead tempted to wear them for the annual dinner though, since the dress was red, it would've matched nicely.

*
This is my latest purchase and also my current love. RM8 sailor-ish flip flop from Connought Pasar Malam in Cheras.

*
This is my Reebok Pink Ribbon series from Why Pay More which I bought some time mid last year which I hardly use these days because I am just too awesomely lazy!

*
And these were purchased from Nose Mid Valley once upon a time during their sales, I believe I was into the strappy craze back then The darker strappy pair was a major love last year. The lighter strappy pair are heels, so I hardly wear them, at all.

*
This pair is from Edmund from Thailand too. I tell you, Thailand is like the most awesome-est place to get shoes (and everything else). 1/4 of my shoes are from there!

*
And these 3 pairs are from my once-upon-a-time favorite-est shop, Elo in Telawi, Bangsar. The red and white pair of twin pumps were purchased by the Mom because she had suggested that I wear one red and one white at the same time. Never tried it, never will. I seriously do not remember why I bought the circle patterned wedges. I think that was pure impulse, worn them at most 4 times.

*
This are my very first pair of pumps. From Sg Wang. They're really old and by that I mean out-of-fashion old and okay lah, also old in age, but I tak sampai hati buang because they are/ were my very first pair of pumps! Ever.

*
This were bought by the Mom without me being present, which explains why it is a tad too big. Recently repaired so will be wearing it more often I hope.

*
This was initially bought by Heng for the Mom, Christmas present. But the Mom gave it to me in the end because she thinks 'It'd suit you better than me', so I happy I am now a proud owner of pink Mary Janes lah! :)

*
This are my starboard port Nike(s). Bought from Langkawi. It's actually from the kids range so I bought it cheap, good to have small feet. Hardly wear cause lazy to wear socks.

*
Gladiators from BKK. I suka but half of the family and kawans think it is too kua. Oh well..

*
The Black Ribbon heels I wore to both the HMC prom and the recent B.Psych Annual Dinner. Never worn them otherwise.

*
My most faithful, black PVC slippers from Carrefour. Still love them to the max!

*
Pink flip flops from Bata in Port Dickson, bought them because I needed a pair when I was based there. Green flip flops from some 2 dollar Singapore shop I cannot remember where and when, super comfy though.

*
Another more recent purchase, from Times Square, for RM25 ONLY. They've got some pretty nice collections there, but you gotta scout around lah, prices are like RM50 for 2 pairs so pretty worth it also. Not as cheap as BKK but close enough lah.

*
Something I cannot live without, my back pumps from Vincci. Not that they are super comfortable but they are far better than heels for casual to semi formal occasions.

*
So there you go.. 26 pairs all together.

Ta-da!

If I ever complain I don't have enough shoes, I permit you to fine me RM1.

P/s: I think I missed out the Purple Stripes shoe, Red Rose sandals and Mickey sandals.

The first two were purchased from this shopping mall in Ampang because I very smart wore the circle patterned wedges go hang kai and almost killed the poor foot(s) so had to find emergency rescue but somehow ended up buying 2 pairs when only one pair was necessary.

The Mickey one was a desperate buy a long while ago because I had wanted a black pair of sandals.

The end.
