Verbal Diarrhea & Unorganized Thoughts

I blame both on the fever and flu. Anyways..

I can't decide if I am too young for my age or if I am too matured for my age. The potential cause for this confusion probably is due to the people I talk to or mix around with. Some say I am matured for my age (I hope it is not lip service), some tend to shove it in my face telling me "Life is harsh, grow up".

If only there was more consistency in what people saw in me.

So a bit about my week spent in Thailand. I was up in Pattaya for some match racing which is always fun. I can particularly use the word fun now that I have come to terms with the results, 7th out of 10 teams, got to learn to accept the amount of effort you put into something, that's the exact results you'll get.

Let's get a little more technical for the sake of those who reads my blog and actually knows what MR is all about...

My first race was against this dude (who is supposedly very good, I refuse to use names in the case that there are people like me who Google names out of sheer boredom), I can't remember what flight but it doesn't really matter does it? So anyway, I was Yellow and the gun goes off. 5 mins to the start, 1 min to the entry. And where did the wind go all of a sudden? It really didn't help that the current was against me and that it was my first start of the day.

So, 4 mins, gun goes off, I am still struggling to enter. And the Blue boat nicely dips the starts, sails across to the boat end, gybe, and comes after me! T___T

First Y flag for windward/ leeward collision, I tried to avoid by pushing my tiller max but the boat simple refused to budge! Second Y flag for not entering within 2 minutes and yes, third Y flag for yet another windward/ leeward collision. Hero much? Didn't even get to start the first race, talk about morale crushing, more like ego deflation for me.

We had a few other dramas like spin halyard coming off, a few more Y flags (penalty on us of course), twisted spin, and yada yada.

Fortunately, there was some good near the end of the event. Our last 2 races were pretty neat. Then again, it was settling for the 7th or 8th OR 9th and 10th positions, so competition wise, it wasn't that tough anymore.

Second last race, clear start, clear beat, round top mark, lousy spin work, opponent caught up by the time we reached the bottom mark. They rounded with water and we were behind on the second beat. Same positions when we got to the top mark. Spinnaker hoisted, they gybed, we gybed. Ultimately, we did a better job at gybing, theirs collapse (and with the limited amount of wind we were sailing in, that meant bye bye!), so we scooted ahead and finished first.

Last race, the race determining we go home with 7th placing or 8th. Like I said, these are not very good positions to be in and I am fully aware of it but let me have some glory with my 2 Y flags at the start can?

The first Y flag on the opponent was for obstruction. Apparently, they called for room to tack a little too late, had they called it any earlier, the penalty would have been on me. The second Y flag was a clear cut starboard port. Hero much? Yes yes... And so we won this race, too.

Part of me was prepared for such results. But still, it was a hard pill to swallow. Gotta' learn to lose girl, as long as you learn right?? Right.

So that was the weekend, the rest of the days in Thailand was spent going for massages, makan makan and last but not least, shopping!

I'll probably be writing a Dear You post next, so wait for it!

Are watermelons green or red? If you say they are red, then apples should be yellow, not green or red. Right?

Student ID

Went to uni to collect my cert today.

When I was asked for my student ID, I actually could not remember my number!

Anyways, all was good. Parked, ran down up to Registry, requested for cert, signed and (looked at the watch, good, 5 minutes left) walked back to the car, and left main block parking.

All done within 10 minutes!

Special thanks to Ivy for you-know-what lah! *winks*

As Random As It Can Get

  1. Bought a new nail polish from Elianto at RM2++! Has got to be the cheapest nail polish I've ever purchased. Best of all, I am actually freaking loving the color. It's Thistle, second last row.

  2. I think me cutting the bangs is one of the better decisions I have made in life so far.

  3. Not promoting The Body Shop because I am working there for the time being, but their new Rainforest Hair Care Range is really something. If you're the kind who's willing to spend RM70 on shampoo and conditioner, go on over and pick something out from the 4 choices, Shine, Moisture, Radiance and Balance.

  4. Have been cheating on my diet day after day after day. How to resist if you have one huge ass brownie cake sitting in the refrigerator!

  5. I think soya bean make me go to the toilet. And just FYI (advice from my consultant), squeezing some lemon into a glass of warm water and consuming it first thing in the morning will also help you with constipation problems. Just sharing.

  6. I've just agreed to do some "voluntary but paid" work at this years' Monsoon Qualifiers which will be from the 17th to the 29th of next month. Strange as it may be, I am actually extremely looking forward to it. Perhaps, not being the race but still being in the atmosphere is what I am better suited for after all.

  7. Can't wait to go shopping in Thailand!

  8. I have been on this nostalgic run for the past week and kept having flashbacks to events from a year ago to back when I first started college, to when I was living away from home.

Somehow in some way, the lil' brother's party yesterday jolted me from thinking about the past to the present. Maybe it's the effect of seeing my own past in the people younger than me that made me realize how much I have grown.

Or, now that I think about it, maybe it is more of how matured kids these days are that I subconsciously told myself I had better moved on with life; fast.

  9. Removing make up is such a chore!

  10. HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND EVERYONE!

Love,
Ai
